BIO:
My career as a mosaic artist spans over 23 years. Though more widely known for my representational mosaics, my work has changed significantly, delving into abstract and exploring three-dimensionality. With this shift has come deeper meaning. Current issues such as the global pandemic, racial tensions, and environmental concerns have prompted me to react and to find new ways to express it. My work has been recognized, awarded and published on national and international levels.
PRESENTATION: ‘Here and Now’
In the midst of world and local chaos, I am alive, here, experiencing what is happening in life right now. Being fully present, I have felt a strong pull to respond to current issues, the pandemic and racism are two in particular. Art is the platform that I know, where I can be seen and heard. I can put my emotions and thoughts into action, into something tangible and visible. Speaking to these issues in this way allows me to process what is going on, to feel like I am doing something, instead of nothing and bring awareness to others. Now is the time.
