Sculpting in clay for mosaics

Presenter: Takis Kozokos

KozokosDescription: Through this 3 hour workshop, Takis will introduce you to sculpture making for mosaics, with the use of clay. Takis will also be presenting at our symposium and talking about the shift from 2D to 3D. This information is invaluable for artists wanting to extend their art form from painting and/or design to sculpture.

Through this session you will work on the creation of your own 3D form to which you could mosaic at a later time. To carry this prototype through to your sculptural mosaic, Takis will inform you of the steps to take in allowing your clay to become leather hard and prepare for kiln firing. Translating your 2D images into 3D sculpture is an exciting journey into mosaic form.
