Symposium Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions govern your purchase of tickets for, and attendance at, the 2024 MAANZ International Symposium, Time and Materiality, and associated events, to be held in Geelong, Victoria in November 2024. It is your responsibility to review these terms and conditions before buying a registration to this event.  By buying a registration you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time and will provide the most recent version on the MAANZ website  All times and dates are Australian AEDT.

Cancellation and Refunds

The Symposium committee may use its discretion to make exceptions in emergency situations.

  • The first instalment of a registration payment (or the equivalent amount if originally paid in full) is not refundable
  • The balance of the registration fee (or equivalent) is refundable up to 30 September 2024
  • Fees for events associated with the Symposium such as guest tickets, Salon entry, exhibition entry, are not refundable
  • All cancellations incur a $50 administration fee
  • MAANZ reserves the right to turn delegates away if they have not paid in full

Symposium Workshops

  • Workshop spaces are limited to REGISTERED ATTENDEES only.  Any unregistered people purchasing workshop tickets will have that money automatically refunded and it will be treated as a cancellation.
  • All cancellations and changes will incur an administration fee of $50 for each cancellation event, no matter how many items are cancelled. E.g. if three workshops are cancelled or changed at the same time by a registrant, then that incurs a $50 fee. But if cancelled separately on different days, then that is $50 per cancellation
  • Symposium workshop bookings are not transferable to another delegate
  • If you cancel a workshop booking, a refund will be issued to you, minus the $50 administration fee, only after the workshop place is resold by MAANZ
  • Merchant fees charged at the time of booking are not refundable
  • If a workshop is changed or cancelled by MAANZ, delegates booked into that workshop will be offered the choice of a refund or a place on an available alternative workshop

Workshop Changes

  • If you cancel a workshop booking in order to book a place in another workshop, your first booking will be treated as a cancellation and a refund provided (less the $50 administration fee) after the place has been resold by MAANZ.
  • If your cancelled place is not filled by another participant, you will not receive a refund
  • You cannot exchange a place on a Symposium Workshop for a place on a workshop on the MAANZ Touring Workshop program.

Workshop Conduct

All hands-on workshops require attendees to wear closed shoes and may require other safety measures such as wearing safety glasses or dust masks.  MAANZ reserves the right to exclude participants where in the view of the workshop presenter and the MAANZ workshop co-ordinator is behaving in a way that endangers themselves or other workshop participants. Workshop fees are not refundable in this circumstance.

While the event is covered by the venue’s insurance and by MAANZ’s, it is recommended that you take out your own travel insurance to guard against unexpected circumstances such as illness or travel cancellations beyond your control.

COVID-19 and other illnesses

The Symposium will be run in accordance with any COVID-19 regulations applicable at that time in the state of Victoria including any regulations regarding contact with others if you have recently tested positive to COVID-19.

We ask that if you are unwell with anything that might be infectious or contagious, you do not attend the symposium.  MAANZ reserves the right to turn delegates away if it is determined that they are posing a potential health risk to other attendees at the Symposium.
