Small Works Salon (Silent Auction) and Quiz Night

Saturday 16 November, 7:15 pm Geelong Library

Here is a preview of the 2024 Salon offerings. It takes a few seconds to start.

This exciting event gives registered symposium attendees the opportunity to sell a mosaic artwork and to purchase small works from their favourite mosaicists. At the 2109 Symposium, all 34 pieces in the Salon were sold!

This year, 50 places are available at a cost of $40 per ticket. These tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. To be an exhibitor, you must purchase an exhibitor’s place.

Here’s how it works: you set your own starting price and handle the sale yourself, and no commission is taken by MAANZ.  The only conditions are that your artwork is a mosaic and no larger than 30 x 30 cm in size.

Jane Denison, the co-ordinator of the Salon, will contact all registered exhibitors and ask them to submit details of their works by 30 September. The best part is you don’t have to have finished your piece to buy your place. If you have any questions about the Salon, you can visit the Salon FAQs for more information.

The tickets to exhibit in the Salon will be available on 30 January, the same day as the symposium registration. With only 50 places available, be sure to act quickly to secure your spot once you have registered!

Who doesn’t love a quiz? Well if you didn’t before, you will love this one!

Immediately following the adrenaline charged salon, we will continue the hi jinks together in Wurdi Youang at the Geelong Library with the inaugural MAANZ Quiz Night. Atop this spectacular mosaic-like architectural Geelong edifice –  with its huge balcony looking over Corio Bay – we will share in the fizz and bubble of Q&A amidst healthy competition, as we put our knowledge about all things mosaic and other, to the test.
