During the first COVID lockdown, I had the urge (and time) to explore increasingly abstract themes in my work. These explorations were reflecting the feelings of floating and flailing that I was personally and professionally experiencing. I was trying to constantly adapt to the changing world around me and telling myself to embrace new things, push ideas, materials and techniques to discover new ways of working. Drawing on intuitive responses to the materials and the inner landscape forming within, this work is burgeoning and cathartic.
