Inside this first issue of 2023 we feature the Victorian exhibition with photos of the award-winning works plus news of MAANZ activities, technical tips, exhibition opportunities and much more.

Devoting as much space as possible to our exhibitions is an important way to
recognise the combined efforts of artists and the people that make exhibitions happen.
Publishing images, artists’ statements and judges’ comments is (among other things)
a wonderful source of inspiration for members who can’t make it to the galleries.

  • The MAANZ International Symposium, 15-19 November 2024 The organising committee has been working on locations and other details. We have a theme – ‘Time and Materiality’.
  • An important public art project in regional SA to honour those impacted by family violence.
  • The ‘Hanging by a Thread’ project is still going strong and is moving to new locations in QLD, Victoria, Tasmania and SA.

Saskia Kremer wins Oro Mosaic Award 2020

The 2020 Oro Mosaic Award has been granted to MAANZ-member Saskia Kremer. She will use the allocated Oro-fund of AU$4000.- to advance her mosaic practice through experimentation blending painting, drawing and mosaic techniques to create a body of work to be exhibited in 2021 at a Sydney gallery.
